Job summary

Talnt seeks a skilled CNC Machinist for first and second shifts in Birmingham, AL. This role focuses on precision milling and turning, CNC setup, and quality‑driven production in a fast‑paced environment.

You will read blueprints and GD&T, select tooling, set offsets, make program edits, and perform in‑process and final inspections with micrometers, calipers and gauges while maintaining accurate production records and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Operator, or CNC Setup Technician in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling, materials, and tight tolerance production.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply GD and T principles.
Experience performing machine setups, tool changes, and offset adjustments.
Proficiency using precision measurement instruments and inspection tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components according to specifications.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD and T, and work instructions to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Select and install tooling, set offsets, and perform machine adjustments to maintain quality and cycle time targets.
Conduct in process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust feeds and speeds, and make program edits as needed.
Maintain production documentation and adhere to quality control and safety standards.
