Job summary

Ehrhardt Engineered Solutions in Granite City, IL seeks a CNC Multi Axis Lathe Set Up / Operator to set up and operate CNC lathes for cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring with live tooling.

The candidate should have an associate degree or 5 years of related experience, be able to read drawings, set up tools, touch off tools, load programs, and adjust controls. Esprit, Mori Seiki, or Tsugami experience is a plus. Mon-Fri, 6:30am-3pm, $30-$36/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• AA degree or 5 years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret operator manuals and drawings.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Use of micrometers, gauges & calipers.
• Live tool experience.
• Conversational programming.
• Esprit programming is a plus.
• Mori Seiki and Tsugami experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and programs to determine tooling and setup procedures.
• Mount and align tooling, attachments and workpiece.
• Install and touch off cutting tools in spindle.
• Load part programs and set machine controls.
• Set speeds, feeds and coolant flow.
• Start, monitor and adjust machine operations.
• Change tools and measure parts for conformance.
• Troubleshoot program or tooling issues with supervision.
• Clean machine, tooling, and work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Operate multiple machines when required.
• Collaborate with management to optimize methods.
• Complete jobs safely, efficiently, and within budget.
