Qualifications

• Grinding skills and ability to use grinding tools and materials.
• Ability to read and follow tech cards and process control procedures.
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing 30–50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Review inspection paperwork to determine grinding requirements.
• Remove surface and subsurface defects from castings using rotary tools and belts.
• Blend repaired areas to blueprint tolerances and may use a hand-held sandblaster.
• Verify dimensional compliance using micrometers, calipers and similar inspection devices.
• Perform fluorescent penetrant inspection tests to verify defect removal and complete logs.
• Provide work direction and training to junior grinders when assigned.
• Perform other tasks as directed.
