Job summary

Benjamin Steel Company is seeking a Burn Machine Operator to operate burning machines, set up with accuracy, install tips, adjust guides and controls, and work with stock size. The role requires blueprint knowledge and prior burning machine experience.

You will read blueprints, measure pieces, and work with calipers to ensure precise processing. Responsibilities include locating stock, maintaining equipment, minimizing waste, handling production records, and maintaining a safe, clean work area

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and relevant drafting experience.
• Experience with burning machines and templates.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used for burning processes.

Responsibilities

• Locate and identify stock for storage and retrieval.
• Safely operate and maintain/clean related machinery and equipment.
• Process material to minimize waste and drops.
• Adjust machinery for full utilization and reduce waste.
• Notify supervisor when oxygen, gas and equipment need replacement.
• Process paperwork for material handling/Production Recording.
• Maintain proper records when required.
• Perform warehouse functions when processing work isn't available.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Be helpful and courteous to customers and employees.
• Perform other duties as related or assigned for the benefit of the Company.
• Good attendance is an essential function of this job.
