Job summary

IPG Chicago's PolyAir division is seeking a Bandsaw/Perforator Operator to operate and maintain bandsaw and perforator lines. Shift is Monday–Friday, 3 PM–11:15 PM, in a union hourly environment.

You will set up equipment, perform quality checks, and keep records, while upholding 5S and safety standards. The role requires basic math, tape measure reading, and good teamwork in a manufacturing setting near Chicago.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment or general labor experience preferred.
• Intermediate math skills and English written communication are necessary.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8-12 hours per shift.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
• General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and injury prevention.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machine and all auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Troubleshoot machine and refer major issues to Team leader, Supervisor or Maintenance.
• Locate unfinished product in warehouse and bring to conversion area by cart, hand truck etc.
• Place product on bandsaw and trim to customer specifications per order ticket.
• Package finished product and label in prescribed manner.
• Manually move finished product to staging area.
• Keep accurate product data and records, as required.
• Maintain good housekeeping/ 5S standards in the work area.
• Provide on the job training for new operators, as appropriate
• Other associated duties as required.
