Job summary

CrossFire Group is seeking an Automotive Paint Prep Technician to support fast-paced manufacturing and collision repair environments. You will prepare vehicles and components for paint, perform sanding, masking prep, and assist painters to ensure high-quality finishes.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and experience in automotive paint shops. You will work with quality standards, safety guidelines, and collaborate with paint, body, and production teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience in automotive paint shop, body shop, or manufacturing paint department preferred.
• Basic understanding of automotive paint systems and application processes.
• Experience using sanding equipment, hand tools, and paint prep materials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and parts for paint defects and quality concerns.
• Perform sanding and surface preparation to readiness for paint application.
• Prepare vehicles and components for masking and painting operations.
• Assist painters and masking technicians with paint preparation activities.
• Conduct wet sanding, paint correction, and finish preparation as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools and equipment.
• Follow quality, safety, and production standards throughout the painting process.
• Collaborate with paint, body, and production teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
