Job summary

Velocity Restorations LLC in Cantonment, FL, seeks a skilled Metal Fabricator to perform high-quality fabrication on pre-1980 vehicles. You will weld, fit, and install components, align bodies, and ensure excellence in every project.

You will play a key role in fabricating chassis elements, exhaust systems, cross members, and roll cages, while maintaining safety and clean work habits. Prior automotive fabrication experience is preferred, with a strong eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MIG welding (TIG a plus).
• Skill in metal shaping with various gauges and materials.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to perform standard shop math including fractions/decimals.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools and inspection processes.
• Experience in fixturing and setting welding parameters.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Fabrication Manager to identify chassis repairs and review build sheets.
• Order necessary parts from parts department to ensure timely progress.
• Perform rust repairs and fabricate brackets or mounts as needed.
• Align and place vehicle bodies onto frames; fit mockup parts and bolt components securely.
• Weld seams and structural components to specified standards.
• Modify parts per assembly manuals and build sheets.
• Drill holes and install components using precise templates and tools.
• Gap doors, tailgates, grilles and other body elements for proper alignment.
• Install mockup motors, transmissions, headers and other critical components.
• Build and install cross members, roll cages, exhaust systems and other structures.
• Conduct fitment checks for transfer cases and other assemblies.
• Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency on first pass.
