Job summary

The Oilgear Company in Traverse City, MI is seeking an Assembly & Test Technician to perform a wide range of assembly and testing operations safely and efficiently. You will prepare components, assemble new projects, and test valves or pumps under pressure, recording data for shipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe workspace, following complex drawings, and mentoring junior staff while meeting production standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• Proficient with precision test equipment and measuring tools.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow drawings and specs.
• High school diploma or GED; strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent communication with team and management.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing and assembly tasks as instructed by Shop Leads or Operations Manager.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assemble highly intricate equipment with tight tolerances and inspect.
• Instruct and check work of junior assemblers.
• Complete skilled fitting and secondary machining.
• Perform complex testing procedures of sub-assemblies and units.
• Operate from complex assembly drawings and specs.
• Use precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
• Complete paperwork and records in a timely manner.
• Support inventory accuracy.
• Maintain communication across shifts.
