Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an Assembly Technician in Wichita, KS for a contract-to-hire role focused on aircraft component assembly and modification. You will interpret blueprints, use hand tools and shop equipment, and ensure adherence to quality requirements.

The position emphasizes complex assembly, sheet metal work, and the use of drills, rivet presses, and cranes, with a strong eye for process improvement and safety. Onsite workplace with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex assembly, structures and sheet metal.
• 2-5 years of complex assembly and structures experience.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and communicate work processes verbally.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and composite materials.
• Experience with forklift, drill press, floor mounted rivet press and overhead crane.

Responsibilities

• Work with blueprints, specifications and work orders to meet quality requirements.
• Complete required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
• Set up and run shop equipment, such as squeezes and precision measuring tools, including drill motors and countersink cutters.
• Troubleshoot problems and look for process improvements.
• Perform rework or changes during the assembly process.
• Assemble major components of sub-assemblies and major assemblies.
• Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools and assemblies.
