Heartland Co-Op is seeking a Precision Ag Specialist responsible for sales and delivery of Precision Agriculture products and services across Iowa. You'll work on developing solutions, building relationships with customers, and ensuring the successful implementation of precision ag programs.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in Agriculture, has strong agronomy knowledge, and at least two years of sales experience, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.
The Precision Ag Specialist position is responsible for sales, services, and delivery of Precision Agriculture products and services for assigned region of Heartland Co‑op.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Post‑secondary degree in Agriculture with strong agronomy background and two years related sales experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Additional statistical concepts such as correlations and summarizing are also required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, accounting, and Precision Ag software. In addition, the ability to link pc based systems to Precision Ag hardware for firmware upgrades.
Maintain a CCA certificate as well as any other appropriate certifications. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and commercial insurability at all times.
