Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Precertification Specialist to obtain pre-certification for outpatient and office procedures and to schedule all procedures. You will assist patients with questions regarding insurance or eligibility and communicate effectively with physicians and staff.

You will contact third party payers in a timely fashion to provide notification of a member's need for procedures and ensure smooth coordination of care across departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• Two years clerical experience required.
• Experience by previous training or certification from an approved Nursing Assistant Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain pre-certification for outpatient and office procedures.
• Schedule all procedures and perform precertification.
• Assist patients with questions regarding insurance or eligibility.
• Communicate with physicians and staff efficiently and effectively.
• Contact third party payers in a timely fashion and provide notification of a member's need for procedures.
