Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Full-Time Precertification/Authorization Specialist in Central Scheduling. You will obtain precertification for radiologic tests, injections, chemotherapy and radiation orders, ensuring timeliness by the day prior to appointments.

You will upload authorizations into Mosaiq and HIS and maintain accurate medical records. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of admin experience in healthcare, strong computer skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school graduate preferred.
• 1 year of administrative experience or equivalent; hospital/medical office setting preferred.
• Experience with insurance and managed care is a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented; able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Obtain precertification and/or prior authorization for testing or procedures.
• Ensure precertification/authorization is completed by 2:00 p.m. the day before the appointment.
• Verify accuracy of information and supporting documents for authorizations.
• Upload authorization details into Mosaiq and HIS (Series) software.
• Document in Mosaiq as the official medical record and use QCL as needed.
• Assist in program development and perform other duties as assigned by manager.
