Job summary

Construction Material Testing in West Virginia seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete, inspect forms, reinforcement, and strands, run fresh concrete tests, and verify dimensions before shipment.

The role requires PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience, reads shop drawings, and adapts to early production schedules, with travel between plants as needed.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with precast plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to travel between plants as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculations.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight) and cast cylinders.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish and defects; tag for shipment or repair.
