Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will inspect forms, reinforcement, and embeds before pours, verify strand tensioning records, run fresh concrete tests, cast cylinders, and inspect finished pieces for dimensions and defects prior to shipment.

Qualifications include PCI Quality Control Personnel Certification Level I or ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I with plant experience.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Field Testing Grade I with 1+ year of plant experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Willingness to work early production schedule and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms and reinforcement against shop drawings before pours.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records against calculated values.
• Run fresh concrete tests and cast cylinders per ASTM C31.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish, and defects.
• Tag items for shipment or repair as required.
