Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector I to perform plant quality control on precast and prestressed concrete. You will verify forms, reinforcement, and strand tensioning, run fresh concrete tests, and inspect finished pieces for conformance before shipment.

The role requires PCI Level I or ACI Grade I with plant experience, and a reliable ability to read shop drawings and maintain accurate records. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• PCI Level I certification or ACI Grade I with plant experience.
• Reads shop drawings and tensioning calculations.
• Comfortable with early production schedule and plant hours.
• Honest and accurate with numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forms, reinforcement, embeds, and blockouts against shop drawings before each pour.
• Verify strand tensioning elongation and force records.
• Run fresh concrete tests (slump, air, temperature, unit weight).
• Cast and cure cylinders; record release strength against required values.
• Inspect finished products for dimensions, camber, finish and defects before shipment.
