Job summary

Wells Concrete in Hillsboro, TX is seeking a Project Checker to ensure accuracy of models and project outputs throughout drafting. You will review drawings, materials, and documentation to confirm alignment with contract documents and standards, partnering with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and support quality assurance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on precast or construction experience, strong Revit detailing skills, and a collaborative mindset to improve processes and help the team

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of precast or related construction experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience Revit detailing/modeling.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and shop drawings.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to review detailed drawings and visualize production/erection processes.
  • Knowledge of precast products, systems, and applications.
  • Ability to identify issues and support practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working across teams to resolve project discrepancies.
  • Adaptability to process improvements and evolving standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review erection drawings for dimensional accuracy and compliance with construction documents and specifications
  • Verify application of project details, engineering standards, and company procedures
  • Check material takeoffs and production material sheets for accuracy
  • Review erection/site material sheets for conformance to design and drawings
  • Validate pour tickets for accuracy, formatting, and clarity
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve non-conformances efficiently
  • Support quality assurance throughout the drafting and production process
  • Assist with special projects and additional assigned tasks
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to drafting team members

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Checker is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of models and project outputs throughout the drafting process. This role reviews drawings, materials, and documentation to confirm alignment with contract documents, engineering requirements, and company standards. The Project Checker also partners with internal teams to quickly identify and resolve discrepancies to keep projects on track.

Salary above $57,500. Based on location and experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Occasional visits to active plant and field locations are required based on operational needs
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required while in the plant and field.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and navigate active plant and field environments as needed.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, walk on uneven surfaces, and safely move through industrial work areas.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, machinery, and other standard industrial hazards.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, as well as noise, dust, and vibration.
LOCATION
  • This position is in office at the Hillsboro office location, but candidates can also be considered for remote depending on their location and ability to relocate.
