Job summary

Tindall Corporation in Conley, GA, is seeking a Precast Engineer (PE) to lead the design and drafting of precast concrete projects. You will interface with sales, estimating, PM, and operations while mentoring junior staff.

This onsite role requires PE registration, a BS in Civil Engineering, and 4+ years of related experience, with at least two in a related industry. You will guide multiple projects concurrently and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Registration as a PE is required.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 4+ years of related experience; 2+ years in a related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and drafting of multiple projects, internally or with outside resources.
• Provide engineering interface across functions and mentor junior staff.
• Generate designs/drawings from construction documents for precast concrete systems.
• Interface with sales, estimating, PM, and operations to develop engineering packages and provide fabrication plans.
• Conduct field observations and write Observation Reports; track field repairs.
• Lead 2–4 designers and 1–2 entry-level engineers on projects; review work of Graduate/Associate engineers.

Summary of Primary Functions

As the Precast Engineer, PE you will be managing the design and drafting of projects and providing engineering interface for these projects with all other functional areas of the company while mentoring less experienced associates.

This is an Onsite position based in Conley, Georgia.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.
• Responsible for managing the design and drafting of several projects at a time, either with internal resources or utilizing outside resources. If internal, the individual will typically self-perform the design or at least the more complex portion of the design if junior level engineers are also involved.
• Responsible for generating designs and drawings for the precast concrete system from construction documents consisting of architectural and structural drawings and specifications. Certain projects may be designed from conceptual information only.
• Interfaces with sales, estimating, project management, and operations, as well as the customer (general contractor and architect/engineer) to accomplish the task of engineering package generation, submittal and approval, then supplying the plant with details and information for fabrication and erector with plans and information for construction and for resolving any questions, conflicts or issues in these areas as they may arise.
• Provides sales support as assigned by Engineering Manager.
• Responsible for ensuring field observations on projects are performed. This will include writing Observation Reports along with development and tracking of field repairs.
• May lead two to four designers and one or two entry-level engineers on a project by project basis.
• Will check the work of the Graduate Engineer and Associate engineer on a project-by-project basis.

Job Specifications or Qualifications

• Certificates, Licenses, Registration : Registration as a PE is required.
• Education : Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Experience : 4 (+) years of related experience, with at least 2(+) years in a related industry is preferred.
