Job summary

Beeson Divinity School at Samford University seeks a nationally/internationally influential homiletical leader with substantial preaching experience for a full-time, tenure-track associate or full professor 9-month appointment beginning August 2027.

The candidate will also serve as director of the Robert Smith Jr. Preaching Institute, plan programs, mentor students, and engage in research while participating in campus worship and community life.

Qualifications

• Doctoral level credentials and a proven record in preaching and homiletics.
• Strong record of graduate-level teaching and student mentoring.
• Active involvement in scholarly research and publication efforts.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise graduate courses (typically 12 credit hours annually).
• Provide leadership as director of the Robert Smith Jr. Preaching Institute.
• Engage in service to Beeson Divinity School, university committees, and student mentorship.
• Foster interdenominational fellowship and contribute to the school’s mission and community life.
