Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Las Vegas is seeking motivated individuals for an entry-level auto body repair trainee role. You will learn dent removal, sanding, and painting under supervision, use hand tools safely, and participate in vehicle inspections to help develop repair plans.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in performing basic auto body repairs, including dent removal, sanding, and painting under the supervision of experienced technicians.
  • Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment properly to ensure safety and efficiency in the workplace.
  • Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
  • Some on-the-job experience is preferred
  • I-CAR Gold Class preferred
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the repair of a vehicle
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts.
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred but not required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace

Requirements to Qualify for Entry into TDP
  • Mentor agrees to accept trainee
  • Zero unplanned absences
  • Zero Tardiness violations
  • Has worked with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
  • Trainee passes final Pre-TDP assessment
  • Mentor signs training agreement

Compensation Details

Compensation Details: $15.00–$18.00 / Hour Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
