Job summary

Hamilton Storage, a leader in automation solutions for life sciences, seeks an Automation Consultant Engineer - Storage (ACES) to translate lab workflows into Hamilton Storage solutions. As a client-facing pre-sales consultant, you will design, ROI-model, and demonstrate solutions while collaborating with Sales Managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
• 3+ years of experience in technical consulting, pre-sales engineering, applications engineering, or similar customer-facing technical role.
• LEAN Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred; demonstrated process-improvement experience welcome.
• Proficiency in workflow mapping/diagramming tools (Visio, AutoCAD) and advanced Excel for ROI/TCO models.
• Experience with laboratory informatics (LIMS/LIS) and integration awareness is a plus.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to translate complex problems into structured solutions for technical and executive audiences.
• Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (40-60%).
• Experience in laboratory automation or life sciences technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site and virtual workflow discovery sessions.
• Apply LEAN Six Sigma to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities.
• Lead solution-design workshops with stakeholders to define requirements.
• Develop current/future-state workflow maps and diagrams.
• Build ROI and TCO models in Excel to quantify value.
• Deliver compelling, audience-tailored solution presentations.
• Collaborate with Sales Managers as the technical resource across pre-sales.
• Configure and present Hamilton Storage system options.
• Lead product demos at customer sites and demo facility.
• Respond to RFPs/RFIs with precise, differentiated content.
• Maintain knowledge of Hamilton Storage portfolio and integrations.
• Provide post-install optimization recommendations.
