Ambulatory surgery centers (or outpatient surgery centers) are healthcare facilities where surgical procedures not requiring an overnight hospital stay are performed. We are seeking a motivated Procedures Room Nurse to join our team. Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the charge nurse and clinical director, the Procedure Room Nurse is responsible for the nursing activities related to the care of the patient experiencing a GI procedure in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates perioperative care for patients having GI procedures in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Provides care following the policies and procedures of the Center and demonstrates knowledge of SGNA standards of practice.
• Makes decisions regarding patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and other members of the health care team.
• Clinically proficient in nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of adult and geriatric patients.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks, use critical thinking skills, and be flexible as job priorities change.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with physicians, patients, staff, and all members of the healthcare team.
• Cognizant of the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Accurately documents nursing care.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude.
• Uses problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to foster effective, good work relationships with team members.
