Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a Registered Nurse in Pre/Post/PACU – Same Day Surgery to assess, implement, and document nursing care under supervision. The nurse will prepare patients for procedures, monitor recovery, and collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams.

This .5 FTE position offers day shifts starting between 5:30am and 11:00am, with no nights, weekends, or on-call. Requires ADN or BSN and current MN RN license, BLS; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates OR Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Two years of nursing experience in recovery room and/or related field such as ICU.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient, family member and/or significant other for procedure by educating on preoperative requirements, confirms planned procedure and answers questions.
• Admit patient to the preoperative area, assesses patient and prepares the patient for surgery and/or planned procedure.
• Receive and monitor patient’s condition post procedure.
• Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence from anesthesia.
• Educate patients, family member and/or significant other by instructing them about procedure, medications, physician’s discharge orders and their continued care after discharge.
• Other duties as assigned.
