Job summary

Adventist Health St. Helena is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre-Op (Surgical) Contract. The role focuses on pre-operative care, patient education, and coordinating with surgical teams to ensure all pre-op protocols are completed before procedures.

The position requires CA or compact-eligible RN license, BLS and ACLS, with 2 years of nursing experience preferred. Surgical outpatient/pre-op focus and OPS experience are strongly preferred. No call and day shift are noted.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CA or compact eligible)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred
• Experience in Pre-Op, PACU, or Surgical Services preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple surgical patients in a fast-paced environment
• RN License (CA or compact) – Required
• BLS (AHA or ARC) – Required
• ACLS (AHA or ARC) – Required
• Surgical outpatient/pre-op focus
• OPS (Outpatient Surgery) experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative nursing care for surgical patients, including assessment and preparation for surgery
• Coordinate with surgical teams and educate patients on pre-op protocols
• Ensure all pre-op protocols are completed before procedures
• Work in a fast-paced surgical services environment with emphasis on safety and patient readiness
