Responsibilities

  • Assesses, develops and implements total nursing care for the pre-operative patient.
  • Records and reports symptoms, reactions and changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel.
  • Administers medications and treatments ordered by the physician.
  • Cares and discharges pre-operative patients according to facility policies.
  • Reviews the patient’s chart for accuracy and completeness; ensures consent aligns with orders.
  • Maintains privacy and confidentiality of patient information; provides psychological support.
