Head Start of Yamhill County is seeking a qualified educator to lead a classroom teaching team for three- to five-year-olds, guiding social, emotional, and academic readiness for kindergarten. You will create lesson plans, observe progress, and complete screenings and assessments.
Responsibilities include holding home visits and family goal conferences with a two-generation approach, supervising aides and volunteers, and partnering with families to support children as lifelong learners.

In 2024 HSYC was awarded a five-year grant to continue offering program services. These are our five-year goals:
Goal #1: HSYC implements Conscious Discipline to support the social emotional needs/ self-regulation of the HSYC community.
Goal #2: All children, regardless of family situation, will have strong attendance that will carryover after HSYC participation.
Goal #3: HSYC will be known for providing high quality, comprehensive services for school and life readiness through a unique two-generation approach.
Goal #4: Hire and retain individuals who are committed to the true HSYC mission and philosophy and who understand the need to be trauma-informed and relationship-based in an early childhood program.
Responsible for leading classroom teaching team in preparation of three- to- five-year-old children socially, emotionally, and academically for kindergarten. Create lesson plans, observe and document child progress, and complete all mandated screenings and assessments. Hold home visits and child goal conferences to support parents as their children's first and life-long teachers, to keep teacher and parent on the same page, and ensure goals are on track for child/family success. Supervision of Teacher Assistant and Classroom Aide, substitutes and volunteers.
