Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of college, or an associate's degree or higher, or passed a rigorous examination demonstrating knowledge to assist in reading, writing, and mathematics.
Type at prescribed rate of speed.
Computer proficiency.
Preferred experience in a PreK-2 classroom setting.

Responsibilities

Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and equipment.
Assist in implementing classroom activities.
Provide instructional assistance as planned or coordinated by the teacher or administrator.
Provide student supervision as required by the teacher or administrator.
Perform clerical and bookkeeping duties as needed.
Enter required data into the computer.
Participate in training programs and in-service.
Plan and organize instruction following guidelines from the teacher.
Maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
