Job summary

YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a Classroom Aide for our Pre-K Counts program to support Lead and Assistant Teachers in creating a welcoming, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. You will help meet diverse learning needs, supervise children, and engage them in meaningful activities throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods.
• Ability to be mentally alert and observant when responsible for children.
• Ability to speak and read clearly to communicate with children under care.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
• Assist Lead and Assistant Teachers with classroom activities and positive management.
• Provide individual and small-group support to meet diverse learning needs.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and nurturing environment with age-appropriate activities.
• Follow safety, emergency, and accident procedures and licensing requirements.
