Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks a Teacher's Aide to support Pre-K 4 SA classrooms, assist with materials, supervise students on bus routes, and help create safe outdoor learning spaces. Work hours 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with schedule changes based on department needs.

Under supervision, you will engage four-year-old children in developmentally appropriate activities, maintain a clean environment, and communicate with parents to foster a welcoming school culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• CDA certification or 12 college credits in Education or Childhood Development.
• Ability to maintain safety and organize a learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing materials and supplies.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized learning environment.
• Interact with children to support and extend learning through play.
• Assist with student discipline and supervision according to guidelines.
• Develop and maintain safe outdoor learning spaces.
• Monitor student behavior at buses, classrooms and common areas.
• Communicate with parents to build a positive school culture.
• Assist with loading/unloading students under supervision and safety.
• Support child safety restraints and crossing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and report incidents.
• Inspect bus and classroom areas at route end.
• Follow safety procedures and perform related duties as required.
