Job summary

The Ozarks Regional YMCA in Branson, MO seeks a part-time Pre-K Before & After Care Staff to support the Branson Public Schools Pre-K program. You will supervise children ages three and four before and after the school day, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and help children develop social, emotional, and physical skills.

You'll collaborate with school staff, families, and YMCA teammates, model the YMCA core values, maintain safety and confidentiality, and participate in staff

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
  • Ability to relate effectively to young children, families, school personnel, staff members, and volunteers.
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow within the field.

  • Engages families and helps connect them to the YMCA community.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe program spaces.
  • Maintains confidentiality of children, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrates initiative by identifying program needs and supporting teammates.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities.
  • Attends family engagement events, staff meetings, trainings, and YMCA activities.
  • Ensures YMCA policies, licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Maintains accurate attendance, incident reports, behavior documentation, and required records.
  • Ensures zero tolerance for abuse and actively participates in the protection of youth.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical mobility: walking, climbing stairs, standing, kneeling, bending, leaning, stooping, and sitting for extended periods.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Collaborative team atmosphere with ongoing training and support.

This position requires active engagement with children by leading activities, encouraging independence, building positive relationships, and maintaining professional communication with families, school personnel, coworkers, and leadership.
