Job summary

Trueline Publishing, LLC seeks a detail-oriented Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer for a full-time, onsite role. You will develop PEMB drawings from design through manufacturing, prepare approval drawings, and generate fabrication documentation for steel building components.

You will use MBS and AutoCAD to interpret plans, coordinate revisions, and collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams. This position is based on site in Lowell.

Qualifications

• Experience in pre-engineered metal buildings or structural steel detailing.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and producing accurate drawings.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Understanding of BOMs, cut lists, and fabrication documentation.
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings and documentation for PEMB projects from design to installation.
• Prepare approval drawings and coordinate revisions.
• Create fabrication drawings for structural steel and components.
• Produce erection and installation drawings for field teams.
• Generate BOMs, cut lists, and shipping lists.
• Use MBS and AutoCAD to develop and maintain drawings.
• Interpret plans and customer requirements.
• Review changes, apply redlines, and maintain revisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with external detailing partners for accuracy.
• Support accuracy of building models and fabrication information.

We are seeking a Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer to join the team. This is a full-time, 100% onsite opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with experience in pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB), structural steel detailing, and fabrication documentation. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to complete building projects while growing your technical expertise within a collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do as the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer:

• Develop detailed drawings and documentation for pre-engineered metal building projects, from initial design through manufacturing and installation.
• Prepare approval drawings for customer review and coordinate revisions based on project requirements.
• Create accurate fabrication drawings that support the manufacturing of structural steel and metal building components.
• Produce erection and installation drawings to guide field construction teams.
• Generate bills of materials (BOM), cut lists, shipping lists, and other documentation required for production.
• Use MBS (Metal Building Software), AutoCAD, and other applicable drafting tools to develop and maintain project drawings.
• Interpret architectural plans, structural drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Review engineering changes, incorporate redlines, and maintain accurate drawing revisions.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and project stakeholders to resolve technical questions.
• Coordinate with external detailing partners when needed, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
• Support the accuracy of building models, material quantities, and fabrication information.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards for quality and detail.

Must-Haves as the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer:

• Professional experience in pre-engineered metal buildings, metal building systems, or structural steel detailing and fabrication.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Experience preparing detailed construction or fabrication drawings for steel building components.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, and technical specifications.
• Understanding of bills of materials, cut lists, and fabrication-related documentation.
• Knowledge of structural steel components, building systems, and manufacturing requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to identify and resolve drawing discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• A related two-year degree with AutoCAD certification or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Lowell, AR, Monday through Friday.

Nice-to-Haves as the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Detailer:

• Direct experience detailing pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) for a manufacturer or metal building systems company.
• Proficiency with MBS (Metal Building Software), including building design, detailing, and material generation.
• Experience producing complete PEMB drawing packages, including approval, fabrication, and erection drawings.
• Familiarity with steel building framing systems, structural components, and fabrication processes.
• Experience developing comprehensive bills of materials and material packages for metal building projects.
• Experience with Tekla Structures or similar structural steel detailing software.
• Background in structural steel fabrication, steel joists, or commercial metal building construction.
• Experience coordinating outsourced detailing work and reviewing technical deliverables.
• Ability to contribute with minimal training in PEMB-specific processes.
• Interest in advancing into senior detailing, drawing checking, or quality control responsibilities.
