Job summary

A leading fire protection firm is seeking a Pre-Engineered Manager in Nashville to oversee pre-engineered operations and grow the business through effective procedures and relationships. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Business and 5+ years of experience in the Fire Life Safety Industry, particularly in Fire Extinguisher and Pre-Engineered systems. Responsibilities include developing operational protocols, overseeing training, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and excellence in service.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in Fire Life Safety Industry, specifically in Fire Extinguisher and Pre-Engineered systems.
  • Must effectively communicate in English.
  • 3 years technical writing and training experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee pre-engineered operations across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures for pre-engineered businesses.
  • Provide training and oversee talent development in the field.
  • Focus on customer service, efficiency, quality assurance, and dependable service.
  • Oversee purchasing, scheduling, billing and collections procedures.
  • Oversee tools, equipment, and vehicle use.
  • Maintain consistent scheduling procedures.

  • Assist in hiring and training field staff; source candidates.
  • Ensure Safety compliance per Safety Handbook and applicable regulations.
  • Contribute to profitability analysis for pre-engineered and fire extinguisher business.

Job description

The purpose of the Pre-Engineered Manager position is to oversee the pre-engineered operations throughout the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Grow the organization’s pre-engineered business through enhancement of operations and sales.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and protocols for pre-engineered businesses throughout all offices.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with new and existing customer base for pre-engineered business; increase key sales of pre-engineered and fire extinguisher business.
  • Focus on enhanced customer service, increased operational efficiencies, enhanced quality assurance and control, and dependable service.
  • Provide oversight of procedures for purchasing and sourcing, scheduling, coordination of work, billing, and collections.
  • Provide oversight of procedures for tools, equipment, and vehicle use.
  • Develop and maintain consistent scheduling procedures.
  • Develop and maintain consistent means of measuring quality and customer service.
  • Oversight in training and developing field talent. Assist in hiring process including sourcing.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for Safety compliance in accordance with the organization’s Safety Handbook, applicable rules & regulations, industry standards, etc.
  • Provide input to profitability of pre-engineered and fire extinguisher business on various financial statements, analysis of market conditions, billing rates, costs, trends, etc.
  • Coordinate support sales personnel to further grow the pre-engineered and fire extinguisher business lines.
  • Utilize accounting software (Timberline) for assistance with (or general knowledge of) billing, tracking costs, etc.
  • Assist with general marketing activities and promotions of the organization.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent, required.
Experience, Knowledge, Skill Requirements
  • 5 years Fire Life Safety Industry experience, specifically in Fire Extinguisher and Pre-Engineered systems.
Communication Skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
Systems and Software Skills
  • 5 years of professional computer skills (Microsoft suite)
  • 3 years technical writing and training experience
Other Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with SFS’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.
  • Must be able to travel 90% of the time, locally.

Employee will occasional be required to balance, crouch, drive, kneel, lift >50lbs, sit, stoop, twist, and work at heights.

Employees will regularly be required to work outside, and be exposed to hot/cold temperatures, dust, fumes, chemicals, electrical hazards and noise. Employee will occasionally be required to work indoors in an office setting, work alone and with others. Employee must consistently wear all appropriate personal protective equipment, as required by company safety policies while visiting locations.
