Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program (certificate or degree).
• BLS certification is required.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience or graduation from an accredited MA/Medical Office Management program.
• Within one year from hire, attainment of CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, or RMA with completion of an MA program.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes new hire candidates and verifies information.
• Performs urine drug screens and saliva testing.
• Reviews and records immunizations.
• Orders required lab tests per Medical Director.
• Performs vision screening.
• Schedules and documents appointments.
• Maintains EMR files.
• Performs chart audits and respirator fit testing.
• Assists in providing care and performing office functions.
• Gives instructions to candidates as directed by medical staff.
• Assists with procedures taught by nurses or Medical Director.
• Drawing blood and administering immunizations as ordered.
• Maintains ethical standards and stocked rooms.
• Communicates effectively with office staff.
