IMPORTANT NOTE: This role is based out of Amazon’s Bellevue, WA corporate office (SEA104). Applicants must be able to work on-site at our Bellevue, WA office during the spring semester and be available for travel during summer months. During summer months, travel to Amazon fulfillment centers under construction and corporate offices around the US is required.
The Pre-Construction Manager (PCM) Internship is an on-site part-time internship (20 hours a week) during the Spring 2027 academic season (February 2027 – May/June 2027) based in our Bellevue, WA corporate office.
Upon school release for Summer 2027 (May/June 2027 – July/August 2027) this position shifts to a 12-week internship “full-time” (40 hours/week) with travel opportunities to project sites and Amazon facilities across the United States.
This is a hybrid corporate and field position, combining strategic preconstruction work in our corporate office environment with hands‑on exposure to large-scale industrial building projects at fulfillment centers, construction sites, and job trailer environments.
Amazon’s Global Engineering Services (GES) NA Design & Construction team is looking for innovative and solutions-oriented interns to support our preconstruction function. Pre-Construction Manager interns will support Amazon’s owner’s representative role during the preconstruction phase of industrial building projects, managing activities from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on exposure to large-scale industrial construction projects while working alongside senior Preconstruction Managers, architects, engineers, developers, and cross‑functional Amazon teams.
During the spring semester, PCM interns work part‑time out of SEA104 supporting pre‑construction activities such as reviewing design documents, tracking permitting progress, preparing project status updates, updating project management systems, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and design consultants. You will work under regular guidance from senior Preconstruction Managers, building your knowledge of construction and project management concepts while contributing to real project deliverables.
During the summer full‑time period, interns travel to project sites to support field pre‑construction activities, attend AOC meetings, interface with developers and landlords, support estimating activities, and gain firsthand exposure to Amazon’s industrial building projects from the ground up. You will work across multiple stakeholder groups and build effective working relationships while developing toward independence. Travel to various locations across the United States is expected during summer months (up to 80%).
