Job summary

Langan is seeking a Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to spearhead the firm’s growth in Woodlands, Texas. This entrepreneurial leadership role will drive business development, strengthen client relationships, and build a strong local presence within a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 15+ years of local site/civil engineering experience with land development focus.
• Professional Engineering license is required.
• Strong ability to develop and manage client relationships.
• Experience in site/civil design from concept through completion.
• AutoCAD or Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
• Active participation in professional organizations.
• Experience in technical and proposal writing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and multitasking abilities.
• Able to work independently and in a team; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development and acquire new clients for the firm.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to build growth plans and allocate staff.
• Demonstrate expertise in land development engineering, including geotechnical and environmental integration.
• Lead site/civil efforts for diverse projects from concept to completion.
• Design and permit residential, institutional, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use projects for public and private clients.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to spearhead the firm’s growth in Woodlands. This individual will play a key role in the continued expansion of our Texas operations, serving as a growth engine within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build and lead a cross-functional team with the support of executive leadership and an established portfolio of diverse, high-profile projects. This is an entrepreneurial leadership position focused on driving business development, strengthening client relationships, and growing a strong local presence.

• Leverage an entrepreneurial demeanor to drive Business Development activities by developing new clients for the firm and maintaining relationships with existing clients;
• Work closely with regional leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization;
• Demonstrate experience in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering;
• Lead site/civil efforts on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
• Design and permit residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centers, and mixed-use projects for both public and private clients; and
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
• 15+ years of successful, local and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects;
• Professional Engineering license;
• Strong client development and client management abilities;
• Site/civil experience on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
• Proficiency of AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred;
• Active participation in professional organizations;
• Experience in technical and proposal writing;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
