Job summary

Langan seeks a Practice Leader - Civil Engineering in Reno, NV to lead design, permitting and client development for premier land development projects. The role partners with leadership to drive growth and oversee site/civil teams across projects.

The successful candidate will have a PE license, 15+ years of local experience, and strong client management skills, with proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of local site/civil engineering experience with land development focus.
• Professional Engineering licence (PE).
• Experience in site/civil design and oversight from concept to completion.
• Strong client development and client management abilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and permit residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse/distribution centres, and mixed-use projects for public and private clients.
• Lead staffing and hiring initiatives for the Los Angeles office.
• Participate in business development meetings with new and existing clients.
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments.
• Coach, train, and motivate Site/Civil staff.
• Lead site/civil efforts on various project sites from concept through completion.
• Lead storm water management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and SWPPP preparation.
• Demonstrate expertise in land development integrating geotechnical and environmental aspects.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Practice Leader - Civil Engineering to join its collaborative team in Reno, NV. This individual will serve a key function in leading and supporting design, permitting and client management/development efforts for a variety of land development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross‑functionally with top industry leadership on a diverse array of premier land development projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and permit residential, institutional, commercial centers, warehouse distribution centres, and mixed‑use projects for both public and private client;
• Work closely with firm leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilisation;
• Lead staffing and hiring initiatives for the Los Angeles office;
• Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients,develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments.
• Coach, train, and motivate Site/Civil staff;
• Lead site/civil efforts on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
• Lead storm water management design, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design and SWPPP preparation;
• Demonstrate experience in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering;
• and Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering;
• 15+ years of successful, local and related site/civil engineering experience with a concentration in land development on both small and large projects;
• Professional Engineering licence;
• Site/civil experience on a variety of project sites including the ability to design and oversee site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
• Strong client development and client management abilities;
• Proficiency of AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred;
• Active participation in professional organisations;
• Experience in technical and proposal writing;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgement capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
• and Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's licence in good standing.
