Job summary

Inland Counties Legal Services seeks a Practice Group Director to lead the Elder Law team in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience working in Elder Law.
• At least 5 years of management experience in a legal environment.
• Degree from law school and active member of the California Bar in good standing.
• Ability to understand the objectives of poverty law.
• Prior paid or volunteer experience in legal service offices serving low-income clients is an asset.
• Strong written, verbal and interviewing skills.
• Patient and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all staff in the Elder Law practice group.
• Monitor caseload and productivity to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Participate in management and administrative decision-making processes at ICLS.
• Represent clients before the Superior Court.
• Manage outreach and community engagement, including education presentations.
• Travel to outreach events throughout Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
• Grant reporting and identifying grant opportunities.
• Provide accurate legal information, referrals, and ensure staff do the same.
• Collaborate with other Practice Group Directors and leaders to improve service delivery.
• Explore new service delivery models utilizing technology.

Inland Counties Legal Services, Inc. is a nonprofit organization providing legal services to low-income personsresidingin Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. ICLS targets services for seniors and those in the greatest social and economic need. Legal services are provided by attorneys, or paralegals under the direct supervision of an attorney. Levels of service include advice and counsel, limited action (includesnegotiations and preparation of legal documents), as well as direct representation before administrative law and civil courts.ICLS provides legalassistancein eight practice groups: Elder Law, Consumer, Housing, Family Law, Immigration, Systemic/Impact, Health Law, and Public Benefits. SpecificDutiesandResponsibilities

• Superviseand manageall staff in theElderLaw practice group.

• Monitor caseload and productivity of all staff in theElderLaw practice group to ensure that staff areoperatingefficiently and producing quality legal work.

• Participateinmanagementandadministrativedecision-makingprocessesatICLS

• Experience with Elder Abuse,restraining orders,consumerdisputes,grandparent visitation,advance planning,andestate planningcases.

• Experience with supervising attorneys and non-attorney staff.

• Recruit and train staff as needed.

• The Practice Group Director willrepresentclients before the Superior Court.

• The Practice Group Director will alsobe responsible formanagingoutreach and community engagement, including community education presentations.

• Travel to and attend Outreach throughout San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.

• Engageingrantreportingandidentifyandassistingrantapplications
