  • Acts as Super User for scheduling, registration, and billing systems.
  • Provide assistance and training to others in these areas.
  • May perform more complex or specialized functions (schedule changes/blocking) at a more advanced level.
  • Provide functional guidance to Office and Practice Assistants.
  • Oversee daily activities of practice staff in coordination with Supervisor.
  • May be required to accept co-payments.
  • Handle, screen, and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, and testing results.

Job Summary

The Lurie Center for Autism is a multidisciplinary clinical, research, training and advocacy program dedicated to treating individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disorders across the lifespan.

Summary: Performs both administrative and clinical functions to support smooth and efficient clinical service or practice operations under minimal supervision. Performs administrative duties related to patient visits, including scheduling, check-in, and check-out duties (performs all duties of the other levels at the highest proficiency level). Actual job duties may vary by Department. Does this position require Patient Care? No

Essential Functions

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Required experience: Healthcare office experience 3-5 years required EPIC scheduling experience Prior Authorization experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong technology and MS Office skills - Advanced Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of office operations and standards and understanding of office procedures, including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
  • Ability to use the phone system, manage more non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience and talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents, corresponding and communicating with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mails, memos, and letters), and taking complete and accurate messages.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Well-organized and good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems.
  • Ability to proofread and edit written documents.

The posted salary reflects the starting range for this position. Actual compensation will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, including experience, education, and relevant skills.
