Title: Practical Nursing Instructor

Term: 10 Months

Classification: Certified/Exempt

Location: FTC Adult Education – MEC Campus

Start Date: January 2027

Qualifications
  • Current, active RN license or privilege to practice.
  • No current disciplinary action in the state of Missouri on licensee’s RN license.
  • No past disciplinary action in the state of Missouri or any other U.S. state or territory.
Educational Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing with clinical component; Bachelor's preferred.
  • One (1) year experience in a clinical setting.
  • Teaching experience preferred but not necessary.
General Requirements
  • Final approval from Missouri Board of Nursing prior to assignment.
  • Must obtain MO/DESE teaching certification within first two (2) years of employment.

  • Participate in recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Participate in the Nursing Advisory Committee.
  • Keep abreast of new information, techniques.
  • Ensure all activities conform to district, state, or federal guidelines.
  • Exhibit dependability and punctuality; maintain consistent attendance.
  • Carry out all other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear; frequently stand or sit; must be able to lift 25 pounds; requires close, distance, and depth vision.

Attendance

Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function.

Conditions and Environment

Regularly work in a noisy and active school environment; indoor classroom or skills lab; minimal exposure to temperature changes; relatively free from unpleasant conditions.
