Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Communications and Public Relations Manager to lead storytelling for CI units, manage social media channels, and coordinate digital communications. The role includes media relations, website oversight, and staff training on the CI web platform (Zesty).

Travel within Marion County and surrounding areas is expected; occasional state-wide and Chicago travel for training may occur. Strong writing, design, and multimedia skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience with both Microsoft and Mac platforms.
• Experience with Canva is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be the chief storyteller for The Salvation Army CI units.
• Manage CI social media accounts and provide content for YouTube and other channels.
• Monitor social media 24/7 to stay current with unit activities.
• Develop relationships with local press and create press materials.
• Oversee CI website, blog updates, and unit websites.
• Train staff on The Salvation Army web platform (Zesty) and assist troubleshooting.
• Lead Generative Engine Optimization efforts with Zesty and Google.
• Support events with online promotions and transactional pages.
