Job description

The Lede Company is a full-service strategic agency that delivers industry-leading work embedded in culture. With extensive experience and expertise in the media, tech, fashion, beauty & wellness, lifestyle, entertainment, music, advocacy, nonprofit, and related industries, we help best-in-class organizations, brands, and individuals establish and manage their public affairs and develop and support their work - including brand strategy, communications and PR, content and campaign development, as well as their impact, purpose, sustainability, and advocacy efforts.

Lede’s Impact team helps institutions, brands, and influential changemakers create a better future for people and the planet. With experience across the public and private sectors, Lede Impact shapes some of the most innovative initiatives and campaigns around the most pressing issues of our time.

The Impact Team is looking for an Account Manager who will play a key role at the intersection of impact strategy, communications and earned media. The ideal candidate is passionate about social impact, sustainability, and building and supporting purpose-driven brands, organizations, and initiatives, coupled with a command of the modern communications landscape and an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the development and execution of comprehensive communications strategies that solve client challenges, reach target audience groups across relevant channels and drive business, brand and societal impact.
  • Develop and execute thought leadership strategies.
  • Work directly with clients and senior staff, and assist in leading client communications, as appropriate.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with press outlets, journalists, and media platforms.
  • Assist with developing creative story angles.
  • Pitch and secure media coverage on behalf of clients in print, broadcast and online media outlets on a regional and national level.
  • Write, proof and edit a variety of PR and marketing materials including press releases and pitches.
  • Help develop compelling and out-of-the box story angles and draft compelling narratives on behalf of clients and their projects.
  • Monitor, assess, and track the performance of communications strategies, identifying KPI’s from the outset and using them to make improvements and guide future strategic communications planning.
  • Develop and foster strong and positive relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Work on multiple accounts simultaneously and under deadline.
  • Stay abreast of media turnover and emerging outlets.
  • Develop interview briefs to prepare clients for media engagements.
  • Achieve exceptional outcomes for clients with evolving priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in public relations, communications, brand or social impact strategy roles.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful brand and social impact strategies and communication campaigns.
  • Excellent writing skills. Whether writing an official press release, an awards submission, or casual email, you can tailor your writing style to deliver information accurately and effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple clients. When everyone thinks their time and work is the most important, you understand how to balance competing requests and keep everyone happy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Solid relationships with members of the media, particularly top-tier and trade outlets and media reporters.
  • A passion for media. You get your news from a wide range of sources and follow broader media trends.
  • A strong understanding of the evolving media landscape.
  • A team-oriented attitude. You understand that it’s about the team’s success and not just getting the credit for your work. You are willing to step out of your comfort zone so that the team can succeed.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, MuckRack, and Cision.
ADDITIONAL
  • Hybrid position. Minimum three days a week in-office is required
  • Some evening and weekend work may be required
  • Some client travel may also be required
