Job summary

Simpson Race Products, a leader in racing and motorcycle safety products, is seeking a Product Developer for Simpson Powersports in New Braunfels, TX. The role focuses on design coordination, vendor collaboration, and progressing concepts to production within a cross-functional team.

You will drive product development, manage the external development process, and communicate with Portfolio and Marketing teams to ensure timely launches. A strong powersports background helps greatly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience in product development or a related role.
• Solid understanding of powersports helmets, PPE, and soft goods requirements.
• Proactive personality with eagerness to learn and grow within the role.
• Analytical mindset with exposure to interpreting and tracking product requirements through phase gates to commercialization.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with vendors, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders.
• Familiarity with product development phase, gates and requirements.
• Interest in participating in product evaluation, contributing insights to enhance future product development endeavors.

Responsibilities

• Product Development Coordination: Assist designers and contractors to build cohesive products; manage vendor communications.
• Ancillary Product Readiness Development: Packaging design, barcode development, and user guides.
• Product Integrity: Evaluate fit and finish; material and component selection.
• Cross-functional Collaboration Support: Convey product attributes for launches; aid NPRs.
• Project Tracking: Maintain progress and GTM calendars; weekly leadership updates.
• Change Management, Documentation, and Communication: Manage BOMs and changes in development.
• System Support: Data entry of specs, costs, and attributes.
• Product Testing and Certification: Wear testing and construction validation.
• This position may attend shows and events as needed.
