Job summary

Burns Engineering, Inc. is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer to join its Power & Utilities team in Austin, TX or Philadelphia, PA. The Engineer I will perform technical tasks, studies, and designs on projects under mentorship, growing autonomy and handling moderate complexity work.

Candidates should hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a Professional Engineer license with 5–8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrical engineer with B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and other design software.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and develop design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Complete discipline specific engineering for systems and designs of moderate complexity.
• Assist in developing design approaches and concepts on projects with moderate complexity.
• Assist in the development of proposals and presentations to clients.
• Review drawings, RFIs, and records of changes; communicate with suppliers, contractors, and client reps.
• Perform on-site surveys and inspections during design and construction stages.
• Write technical specifications with oversight from senior technical staff.
