Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Houston seeks a motivated recent graduate or analyst to join the Commodities Power Trading desk within Global Banking & Markets. You will price and execute derivatives, monitor market events, and support the broader team across North American power markets.

You will develop market fundamentals, communicate insights to sales and clients, and assist with risk management and trade execution in PJM, MISO, NYISO, and NEPOOL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or expected graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Demonstrated interest in commodities, financial markets, trading, energy, macroeconomics or risk management
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Python and VBA preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Support daily trading and market-making activity across commodity products
• Develop commodities market fundamentals and trends and communicate information succinctly to salespeople and clients
• Support risk management and trade execution process across various power markets, notably PJM, MISO, NYISO, and NEPOOL
• Manage cash and short-term trading positions risk
• Execute and book flow-based and structured trades across power markets
