Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a field engineer to test and commission protection and control systems for electric utility customers across the upper Midwest. You will work from home and travel to substations within your territory.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing of relays and control schemes, reading schematics, and reporting findings to customers and project leads. A strong electrical engineering foundation and readiness to drive are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in EE or related field; NETA not required.

• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
