Job summary

ERCOT is seeking entry-level and early-career engineers for its GMS Development Program. You will gain hands-on experience in Power Systems and market applications, with mentoring and field assignments to prepare for a future career at ERCOT.

You will work on Grid and Market solutions using languages like C++, Python, Java, and JavaScript while collaborating with a diverse team to support Texas grid operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science required.
• Power systems coursework or focus highly preferred.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) preferred.
• Internship or coursework in power industry is advantageous.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for Grid Applications (Power Flow, State Estimator, OTS, etc.).
• Provide engineering support for Market Applications (SCED, DAM, RUC, CRR, etc.).
• Design, code, test, and implement modifications following SDLC processes.
• Install, configure, and support grid and market products from global vendors.
