Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support one of our largest clients in Carmel, IN. The role requires strong experience modeling and analyzing power systems using PSS/E, TARA, DSA, and related tools to assist in reviewing generator interconnection studies.

This 12-month W2 contract offers onsite work with remote flexibility, a pay rate of $50-71/hr DOE, and benefits eligibility during the contract, with overtime paid at 1.5x.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in Power Systems Engineering or related role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Transmission Planning, or related field.
• Utility/Energy industry experience.
• Experience with Power Flow tools: PSS/E, TARA, MUST, and/or DSA.
• Familiarity with NERC Compliance.
• Ability to model and analyze power systems, especially for generator interconnection studies.

Responsibilities

• Support client in Carmel, IN with power systems modeling and analysis.
• Review material modification reports and assess impacts on the grid.
• Utilize PSS/E, TARA, DSA and related tools to study interconnection effects.

Job description

Location: Carmel, IN - Egan, MN - Also open to remote!

Schedule: Onsite - 4 days per week if local to MN or IN. Open to remote

• Will need to work on either EST or CST hours if remote

Duration: 12 month contract with potential extensions, potential permanent hire

• W2 contract
• Eligible to enroll in benefits during contract duration
• Paid x1.5 for any overtime

Pay Rate: $50-71/hr DOE!

Must Haves:

• 4+ years experience in Power Systems Engineering or related role
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Transmission Planning, or related field
• Utility/Energy industry experience
• Experience with Power Flow tools: PSS/E, TARA, MUST, and/or DSA
• Familiarity with NERC Compliance
• Ability to model and analyze power systems, especially in support of generator interconnection studies

Plusses:

• Master's Degree or PHD
• Experience reviewing Material Modification Reports

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Power Systems Engineer to support one of our largest clients in Carmel, IN. The Power Systems Engineer should have strong experience modeling and performing analysis in PSS/E, TARA, DSA tools and other power flow tools as necessary in order to assist our client in reviewing their material modification reports in order to better understand incoming point of interconnection changes and what their impacts will be on the grid.
