Job summary

Airswift has been engaged to find an Electrical Engineering Technician II or III for a one-year contract in Spring, Texas. The role follows a 12-hour rotating schedule (days/nights) with a W2 contract and potential extension.

Responsibilities include safe operation of the distribution and transmission systems, responding to events, coordinating with field teams, and maintaining incident logs. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and 3% matched contributions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• AAS or higher in an electrically related field encouraged to apply.
• 4+ years of experience in a power distribution role or related field is required.
• Distribution operations or field experience encouraged to apply.
• CAPS or DLT certification encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate the distribution system within established loading and safety guidelines.
• Assist in distribution service restoration procedures to restore service promptly and safely.
• Monitor load and coordinate with field for abnormalities to ensure proper voltage.
• Maintain a daily log of events on the distribution system for planning and design history.
• Handle alarm events from equipment and dispatch field teams to minimize downtime.
• Assist in preparing work clearances for distribution lines and substation equipment.
• Participate in required trainings and fulfill all duties as needed.
• Perform all essential job functions and any other specific job requirements.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find an Electrical Engineering Technician II or III to work for initially One-Year contract in Spring, Texas

Work Schedule: 7/7, rotating days and nights, 12 hour shifts

Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension)

As a Power System Operator, you’re responsible for the safe operation of the distribution system and our Transmission system. This position identifies and initiates corrective action as needed in a timely manner to optimize operating conditions including service restoration procedures while working under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the system is operated within established company loading and safety guidelines.
• Assist in the direction of distribution service restoration procedures to restore service in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
• Assists in monitoring load and initiates communications to field for load abnormalities on facilities to ensure proper load flow and adequate voltage levels under direct supervision.
• Maintains a daily log on all events occurring on the distribution system to assist in future operation of the system, developing a history to assist in planning and design of facilities, and complying with regulations.
• Handels all Alarming aspects from related equipment and dispatches field team to minimize down time and production
• Assists in the preparation of work clearances on distribution lines and substation equipment to assure safety to employees.
• Participates and completes assigned training activities.
• Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.

• The position is in a diverse work group operating 24-hours a day through rotating shifts.
• Rotating shifts: 12 Hour hitch Days & Nights currently 7/7 will move to 14/14 in the future

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Candidates with Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or greater in an electrically related field are encouraged to apply.
• 4+ years of experience in a power distribution role or other related experience is required.
• Candidates with Distribution Operations and/or Distribution field experience are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates with Craft Advancement Progression Skills (CAPS) or Distribution Lineman Training (DLT) certification are encouraged to apply.
