Job summary

Shield AI in Seattle is seeking an early-career Test Engineer to support testing and verification of X-BAT’s battery energy storage, electric motors, and motor-drive systems. This role will be focused on setting up, operating, and refining battery storage and dynamometer-based test systems to characterize energy storage and motor-drive performance.

You will work closely with the Power Systems team and other engineers to validate flight-critical electronics, sensors, and propulsion interfaces,

Qualifications

  • Hands-on battery, dynamometer, electric motors, motor drives, powertrain systems 경험

  • Familiarity with benchtop electrical equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, powersupplies and electronic loads

Job Description:

We are growing the Avionics Engineering team to support the development of the X-BATaircraft. Our team is designing a flight-critical, custom avionics system supporting communications, compute, AI, power, telemetryand other essentialaircraftsystems.

Shield AI is seeking an early-career Test Engineer to support the testing and verification of X-BAT’sbattery energy storage,electricmotorsand high-voltage motor-drive systems. This position will be primarily responsible for setting up, operating, and refining battery storage and/ordynamometer-based test systems used to characterizeenergy storage, electricmachineand motor-drive performance.

The role sits at the intersection of electrical, mechanical and test engineeringanengineer with strong, directly relevant dynamometer experience. You will partner closely with the Power Systems team and other cross-functional engineering groups throughout design, verification,integrationand qualification.

This position is based in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in electrical technology, mechanical technology, mechatronicsengineering, electrical engineering, mechanicalengineeringor a related technical discipline

  • Hands-on experience withbatteries,dynamometers, electric motors, motor drives, powertrain systems, or comparable electromechanical equipment through employment, internships, academic teams,clubsor personal projects

  • Experience setting up and executing hardware tests using instrumentation,sensorsand data-acquisition equipment

  • Experience troubleshooting systems involving electrical and mechanical components

  • Familiarity with benchtop electrical equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, powersuppliesand electronic loads

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanicaldrawingsand test procedures

  • Understanding of laboratory safety practices, including the safe operation of high-voltage or high-power equipment

  • Demonstrated ownership, reliable execution, clear documentation, and effective collaboration with engineers,techniciansand cross-functional partners
