Job summary

Ameren Missouri's Sioux Energy Center in West Alton, MO, seeks skilled welder repair specialists to support plant operations with precision welding and heavy mechanical repair of power plant equipment.

Responsibilities include arc and gas welding, boiler components, ASME code work, and extensive maintenance across boiler tubes, pipes, and vessels. Safety and adherence to industry standards are required, with on-site work in a large industrial facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and either a 2-year technical college program with 5 years as Certified Welder Repairman, or a certified apprentice program with 5 years as Certified Welder Repairman, or 10 years as Certified Welder Repairman.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform highly skilled arc and gas welding, cutting, brazing, pipefitting, and insulation installation/removal.
• Welding on boiler pressure parts, pressure vessels, and piping in accordance with ASME codes.
• Mechanical maintenance: repair/replacement of boiler tubes.
• Structural steel erection and replacement of liner plates in fans, coal chutes, and hoppers.
• Welding repairs to castings and equipment; piping/valve work (measuring, layout, cutting, threading, bending).
• Replacement of gaskets; valve repacking and overhaul.
• Cleaning/replacement of condenser and heat exchanger tubes.
• Repair of traveling water screens where applicable.
