Job summary

Luminant Power LLC in Dayville, CT, is seeking a Plant Operator to perform operations, preventive and corrective maintenance for gas plant equipment, under site management. You will ensure proper function and promote safe, reliable operation of the plant.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting on shift, calibration, and installation tasks, while applying strong safety practices and effective communication with team members.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years related experience.
• Tier 2 certification if applicable for position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State license as recognized by the governing body (MA, OH) if applicable.
• Computer-based skills required.
• Effective oral and written communications skills.
• Independent troubleshooting ability.
• Must be candidate on POSS/MASS program for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Perform operations functions and preventive/corrective maintenance to ensure proper plant equipment operation.
• Maintain equipment at the Gas Plant and promote safe, reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot, document, and assist in problem resolution on shift.
• Conduct daily maintenance, calibrations, overhauls, and install/remove equipment.
• Decide and advise on repair techniques for plant equipment.
• Conduct excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Develop and implement plant operating procedures.
• Understand equipment relationships to plant systems.
• Provide instruction to lower level employees as needed.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental procedures (LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work, PPE).

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing operations functions, preventive and corrective maintenance as applicable to job function to ensure proper functioning of plant equipment. Will work under the direction of site management.

This position is responsible for the proper function and maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Proficient in primary skill required of position
• Proficient skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
• Performs troubleshooting and documentation, and assists in the resolution of problems discovered on shift
• Performs daily maintenance, overhauls, calibration, troubleshooting, repair/replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and systems.
• Makes decisions and recommends appropriate repair techniques for plant equipment to peers, supervisors, plant management.
• Conducts excitation system inspections and preventive maintenance
• Proficient in operating material handling equipment
• Develops and implements plant operating procedures
• Understands relationship of equipment to plant systems
• May provide instruction and teaching to lower level employees
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements

• 4 -6 years related experience
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 2 within primary skill for position job performance measure
• Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
• If applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state (MA, OH)
• Demonstrate computer based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
• Independent knowledge of troubleshooting
